Bollywood star Sana Khan quits showbiz
The star cites personal reasons as decision to retire from the industry
Bollywood actress Sana Khan, who starred in Salman Khan's Jai Ho, took to social media to announce her retirement from showbiz citing personal reasons.
In her post, Sana calls it her 'happiest moment' and thanked everyone for the 'all kinds of fame, honour and wealth' but she has realised that 'wealth and fame' is not her only goal.
The former Bigg Boss finalist began her post with these words: "Today I am talking to you standing at a crucial juncture of my life. I have been in Showbiz (film industry) for several yars, and during this time, I have been blessed with all kinds of fame, honour and wealth from my fans for which I am grateful to them. But, for the last few days, I have been possessed of the realisation that: Is the real purpose of man's coming into this world only to chase wealth and fame? Isn't it a part of his/her duty to spend his/her life in the service of those who are needy and helpless? Shouldn't a person think that he/she could die at any moment? And what will happen to him after he/she is no more? I have been searching for answers to these two questions for a long period of time, especially the second question as to what will happen to me after my death?"
"My happiest moment. May Allah help me and guide me in this journey," she added in her post.
She ended her note with: "Finally, all brothers and sisters are requested to not consult me with regards to any showbiz work henceforth. Thank you very much."
Sana was born and raised in Mumbai. Her father is a Malayali from Kannur, Kerala, and her mother is from Mumbai. She began her career with modelling and went on to appear in ad films. She made her acting debut in the Hindi film Yehi Hai High Society in March 2005, following which she worked in Bollywood movies like Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Halla Bol and Wajah Tum Ho. She also worked in a number of South Indian films like Silambattam, Thambikku Indha Ooru, Mr. Nookayya, Climax and Thalaivan. Sana also participated in the reality shows like Khatron Ke Khiladi, Kitchen Champion and Box Cricket League.
Reacting to Sana's post, her friends from the fraternity wished her 'happiness'.
