Here are some of your favourite dramas come to TV this month.

With the holy month of Ramadan upon us Neha Mahamood puts together some of the best television shows to indulge in this season. Put the food away and pick up the remote as some of your favourite dramas come to TV this month.
The Writer
Starring Syrian actor Bassel Khayyat as Younes Jebran, and the Lebanese young actress Daniella Rahme as Majdoleen, The Writer tells the story of a best-selling crime novelist who becomes the primary suspect when a murder case is eerily similar to a plot in his novel. Once accused, he must navigate a web of hidden enemies to clear his name. The Writer is directed by the renowned Rami Hanna and will be streaming on Netflix the entire month.
Takeshi's Castle, Ridiculousness Arabia and Comedy Al Wagef
Don't miss out on Comedy Central Arabia's Ramadan mini-marathons. Enjoy three hours of back-to-back episodes of your favourite international and local Arabic content, everyday throughout the month of Ramadan. Double bills of: Takeshi's Castle, Ridiculousness Arabia and brilliant local stand up with Comedy Al Wagef, are on air everyday on Comedy Central from 4-7pm.
Kalabsh 3
The success of this Egyptian series on MBC 4 proves that Ramadan television is not all just sweeping romance epics. Amir Karara returns in the role of crusading cop Selim Al Ansari as he battles it out with Cairo's criminal gangs. The show is defined by its pulsating soundtrack and exciting action set pieces, which makes great use of the Egyptian city's gritty landscape. For timings go to www.mbc.net
I Have a Script
I Have a Script, starring Kuwaiti TV veteran Souad Abdullah and Kuwaiti TV sweetheart Shejoun Al-Hajri, will also make its way to Netflix this Ramadan. Directed by Munir Al Zoubi and produced by Kunooz Al Khaleej, the story of this social comedy revolves around a woman that decides to pursue her passion for writing by penning television scripts following the death of a loved one.
Khamsa We Nos
A sprawling pan-Arab drama Khamsa We Nos follows the life and tribulations of Ghamar Al Ghanem (Kossai Khaului), a businessman with political influence. His life enters choppy waters once he falls in love with a high-profile doctor, Bayan Al Deen (Nadine Njiem), who also happens to be the object of affection for Ghamar's bodyguard, Jad Ali (Mo'tasem Al Nahar). The love triangle eventually turns vicious as conflict, betrayal and politics come into play. Watch the epic drama at 8pm on OSN Ya Hala Al Oula.
What If?
Young talents in the Middle East including Munther Rayhana, Khaled Amin, Aseel Omran, and Rawan Mahdi make their way to Netflix in What If?, a Kuwaiti drama directed by Hussain Dashti and produced by A&H Media Production. What If? tells the story of four individuals at the crossroads of life, who are given the chance to take both paths, and decide which road is best for them.
In the Bosom of a Thorn
With a host of renowned actors from the Middle East, including Elham Fadala, Ibrahim Al Harbi, Laila Abdullah, Khaled Al Buraiki and Abeer Ahmed, In the Bosom of a Thorn is set during the Gulf War. After the invasion of Kuwait, a woman's infant daughter is taken from her. Now, years later, her daughter looks to make her way back home. Catch the drama on Netflix.
Al Tawash
Veteran Emirati actor Ahmed Al Jasmi stars as the title character. In his eternal search for respect, Al Tawash is always getting into trouble with members of his local Bedouin community. Catch his adventures at 8pm on Sama Dubai.
Hogan
A rags-to-riches tale of a young street kid whose physical prowess earned him the nickname of Hogan (Mohammed Emma). With an ability to move cars with his bare hands and twist metal coins with his fingers and teeth, in addition to chewing glass, he gets the attention of influential people who take him from the town to the big city. Catch this comedy drama at 8pm on Abu Dhabi TV.
Matbakhna Al Arabi: Season 5
Hailing from Syria, and specialising in Aleppo and Modern Arabic cuisine, presenter Chef Mohamed Orfali holds 'Mastering the Art of Preserves Sous Vide' cooking certificates from Le Nôtre Paris School. In the fifth season of Matbakhna Al Arabi, he will dig even deeper into the varied and wonderful food culture of the Arabic Cuisine. During the show, Orfali will share his in-depth knowledge of the origins of the recipes, the ingredients and how they link to the culture of the region.
