YOUTH JAILED FOR LIQUOR POSSESSION

The misdemeanour court has sentenced an unemployed Indian national to one month's imprisonment to be followed by deportation on the charge of possession of liquor. Abdulnajeeb K., aged 26, was found in possession of 93 bottles and 80 beer cans which he had hidden in the electric room of a building and intended to sell.

The police received a tip-off about a person in Al Morer area who possessed a huge stock of liquor. He was put under observation and arrested on September14. On searching him, police found a key to the room. Armed with a search permit, the police entered the room, found the liquor and confiscated it. The youth admitted that he had stocked the liquor and the case was referred to the court.
