"I WHOLEHEARTEDLY congratulate the people of Pakistan on the 60th Independence Day of the country. Pakistan was created under the leadership of Quaid -e-Azam through democratic process by the Muslims of the sub-continent with great sacrifices.

The objective of Pakistan was to provide a homeland for the Muslims of the sub-continent and to make Pakistan an Islamic state in which justice is provided to even the poorest of the poor and all its people benefit economically.

Today's conditions in Pakistan once again prove that the country will not achieve stability unless the objectives of the creation of Pakistan are implemented, a true democratic culture is promoted, provision of justice is ensured for the 160 million people, there is respect for each other, and the country's constitution and law prevail at all times.

On this day, we should not forget our national heroes whose sacrifices helped create Pakistan and made it an unconquerable fort.

I call upon my countrymen to stand up against oppression to get their rights with the same spirit as they took part in the Pakistan movement. I admire the lawyers who took to the streets in support of the Chief Justice and were joined in by political parties and the masses, thus leading to the restoration of the Chief Justice as well as the confidence of the people in the country's judicial system. The media played a key role in the episode.

The time is near for us to realise the objectives of Pakistan and give the people their due rights."
