INDIAN GHAZAL singing star Pankaj Udhas is set to captivate his fans in the city, during his concert tonight, February 2 at Crystal Ballroom, Hyatt Regency, Dubai, starting 9.00pm onwards. The Emirates Vision Event is part of Dubai Shopping Festival.
Pankaj Udhas's name needs no introduction. The star received the "Padma Shri" award last year, a Government of India civilian award, for his outstanding contribution to India and he has also been honoured with over 16 other prestigious awards through out the world for his outstanding contribution to Ghazals and record breaking albums.
Pankaj Udhas' passion for music started at the age of five, when he sang 'Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon' in front of a mammoth crowd, winning applause. He released his first album 'Aahat' in 1980 and since then has released 39 albums, the last being 'In Search of Meer.
He has made his foray into films gaining popularity with the emotional Chitthi Aayee Hai from the film Naam. Pankaj, winner of the MTV Immies Award for the successful album 'In Search of Meer', has also performed almost in every country since 1980.
He's credited for making ghazals music popular. Despite his busy schedule with concerts abroad, he hasn't stopped singing new songs and making new albums.
