Chopra was also thrilled when his 23-year-old son made his debut as a director with Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, many moons ago. Chopra at that time was impressed by his son’s grasp of human emotions so early in life.

Chopra’s happiness after watching Rab Ne is not misplaced and as a senior filmmaker who has given some brilliant hits in Bollywood, Chopra talks about Rab Ne

“Aditya has made a film which is a very wonderful product. He has done me proud for the third time around. The audience has loved his earlier films and it is up to them as to how they react to the film and whether they will accept it with a similar fondness as they did with his other movies,” says the septuagenarian filmmaker.

Chopra is content leaving the viewers to sample his son’s film as he knows that half the world loves to watch DDLJ even today. Not many are aware that the film is running at a Mumbai theatre called Maratha Mandir close to around seven hundred weeks after it first released.

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, is still one of the most favourite films of many viewers. It is one of the highest grossing films of all times and in fact it is still running in its 14th year in Mumbai. Adi followed DDLJ up with Mohabbatein in 2000 and it was also very successful,” says Chopra.

For Chopra, RNBDJ is still a crucial one from his stable.

Rab Be Bana Di Jodi is indeed a very important film from many aspects,” says Chopra keeping his fingers crossed.

Chopra says that the film is watchable because of many reasons. “The USP of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi is the return of the Shah Rukh Khan/Aditya Chopra combination after 8 years, it is also the first SRK release after one year, it introduces a brand new leading lady, Anushka Sharma who has done a brilliant job and most of all it is a wholesome family entertainer with its heart in the right place. It promises entertainment and emotion, both much needed in today’s times,” signs off the filmmaker.
