ECRU, an exclusive and distinguished fashion house in the UAE, which has designed for the Kuwaiti Royal family and VIPs in the Middle East, has created the wedding dress using more than 200,000 genuine Swarovski crystals. Ankur Batra, designer, said the dress took more than three months to complete and is one of his most intricate designs yet.

In the popular fashion shows, one of the region’s most celebrated fashion designers, Beenas Collection, launched a brand new range of Abayas and Sheilas, along with a new collection of Jalabiyas, exclusively at its fashion show at The Bride Show Abu Dhabi.

The new range is available to view at The Bride Show Abu Dhabi until Friday in Halls 5,6 and 7 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

FOR THAT PERFECT HONEYMOON

AS SOON as they set the date, the couple to be married is encouraged to think of the honeymoon too, which should be just as perfect as the wedding day.

For this reason, Emirates Holiday has set up a pavilion at the ongoing Bride Show in Abu Dhabi, ready to advice and book honeymoons.

According to Brigitte Jens, retail manager, Holidayland at Emirates Holiday, the wedding season this year will start from the end of August, after Ramadan and summer holidays and last until the end of October.

"Ideally, couples should book their honeymoon six to three months in advance, if they don't want to be disappointed", said Jens.

She told City Times that western and Arab couples have very different requirements for honeymoons. "Western people usually go to locations that reflect their interest, which can be anything from mountain climbing to cultural cities. Arab couples though, tend to prefer very quiet and remote locations, where they can enjoy time on their own", she explained.

Island beach locations, especially in the Maldives, Mauritius and Seychelles tend to be highly popular.

"Honeymoons set the mood for the future and for an Arab couple in particular it is a special time to get to know each other and plan for the future", mentioned Jens.

She also pointed out that when couples come to book their holidays, she always sets up several meetings to get to know them and what they like before booking their holiday.

"We will arrange for them anything, from picnic on the beach to what kind of flowers they like in the room", added Jens.

Since honeymoons are custom made, so are the prices and, according to Jens, especially when Arabs are concerned, there are no expenses spared.
