Hashim Al Tawil, Nadhem Hamid, Salem Al Dabbagh, Hani Al Dahla Ali and Mohammed Al Shammari aim to reach to you and submit their creations for your pleasure and intellect. These are the artists who retain traditions that encourage the determination and autonomy of people alike.

Nadhem Hamid is one of the most distinguished impressionist artists in Iraq. Interested in Arab townscapes and preservation of the urban and architectural heritage, he talks about his native Iraq as a cradle of civilisation, a country that has been battered in its history. From there he moved to Jordan where he was influenced by the landscapes of the northern Jordanian desert.

Born in 1941, Salem Al Dabbagh uses his personal experiences as inspiration to show proportional relationships between emptiness as an absolute element and the surface as a relative space - black, white and grey are the main colours that are portrayed in his works.

Mohammed Al Shammari has developed his own abstract style that he applies to his works. His uses of varied mediums include a burning technique and burlap and wood boards that he paints.

He creates two and three dimensional compositions full of surprises and enigmatic symbols. They waver between paintings, sculptures and installations with a lot of imagination and innovation.

'Voices from Iraq' promise to bring an array of works that tie in the vastness of the human experience in Iraq as well as the Arab countries surrounding it.
