Shaiyanne's heavily embellished, designer clothes are rich in look and feel — looking like they belong to royalty — giving the wearer oodles of confidence and making her the centre of attraction ... and are sure to become weapons of mass distraction in any gathering.

This richness of designs comes from her love for the bridal wear. Though not a ‘trained designer', she says she knows a thing or two about dressing well — this, without doubt, acquired from her stint as an actress in quite a few television serials and stage plays.

Though Shaiyanne made a name for herself in acting and later in the fashion world, she had trained to be a lawyer but gave it up for the family as her kids were very young and as every other 'untrained designer’ either from India or Pakistan, she started designing for herself and a few of her friends.

She started flexing her fingers on weft and weaves, creating magic on fabrics and turning them into stunning attires.

Slowly, friends — and their friends — kept requesting her for more, pushing her into the big world of fashion.

She gets the 'rich' look by using more than one kind of stitch in an attire, "My dresses are a fusion, more of marori, dubka and naqshi," she says. "I'm a creative person and creativity cannot be suppressed, whether you have trained in it or not, it just flows out from you," she adds.

Though her creativity was being noticed in designer wear, she realised her clothes were not for everyday use. It was then she decided to come out with a pret line and now her collection boasts of a casual line for working women.

She manages to create stunning dresses with the use of bright colours and a few embellishments, turning the humble chudidaar suits into traffic stoppers but heavily embellishes party wear and wedding wear is what she has made her name in and it is this collection that is well worth a look.

One will surely be spoilt for choice, as each piece is richer, more attractive than the other and will turn that young woman next door into a well-heeled princess in the time it takes for her to don that designer outfit.

Shaiyanne will be exhibiting her pret, party and wedding collection at the Designer's Lounge, Al Mina Road, Dubai, on May 2 and 3.
