PINOYThis holds true for the Oblates of St Benedict (OSB), led by Terry Palomar, whose Mary's Love School programme in Barangay Tibig in Cavite, just south of Manila, held commencement exercises recently that proved to be fruition of OSB's valued aspiration: share knowledge through meaningful education to children in underprivileged communities.

The occasion saw the young graduates deliver Tagalog poems with youthful exuberance and render a special performance of native folk dance to the delight of parents and guests. And students who did well under the OSB programme received academic and special citations, along with the volunteer teachers for their unwavering efforts to helping the children.

Mary's Love School programme is just one among the many outreach efforts of the OSB. It provides a 210-hour curriculum that teaches arts, crafts, reading poems, learning ABCs and basic math to children of ages 2-6 years old.
