It took time for the Shangri-La lads to settle down but once they got into their stride there was no stopping them. Hardworking Younis opened the scoring with a solo goal. Naim increased the tally to two just before half time.

The second half was one sided with Younis scoring his second for the night and Naim completed the tally to win the match 4-0. Minguel, Amir and Sebastian did their best for the Grosvenor team.

With this victory Shangri-La completed their league stage on 30 points and lead the standings. They will meet eighth placed Carlton Tower Hotel in the quarter finals on August 24 at 6.25 pm. Seventh placed Grosvenor House completed their engagements on 23 points and will meet Jumeira Beach Club in the quarter-finals on August 25.

In the second game of the night Jumeirah Beach Club climbed into second spot with twenty-eight points. They were held to a one all draw by Le Meridien Al Aqah in a fast paced game. Jumeirah began on a bright note missing two goals in quick succession. They were however rewarded just before half time when opportunist Henry grabbed a goal to put his side in the lead.

Immediately on resumption the Fujeirah team equalised with Francois Claire scoring from close range. Both teams tried their best to find the elusive winner but time ran out on them and they had to settle for a draw.

Le Meridien Al Aqah finished the league in fifth position and will meet Milenium Airport Hotel in the quarter-finals on August 27. In the battle for eighth place Carlton Hotel had to pull out all stops before overcoming a stubborn Sea View Hotel by seven goals to three.

The teams were level on 1-1 at half time with Ahmed Saeed scoring for Carlton and Luai equalising for the Sea View team.
