the booths are abuzz with the curious and the knowledge seekers of the religion.

The booths belonging to the Islamic Information Centre (previously known as Discover Islam) have been organised in collaboration with the Dubai Police and the Higher Colleges of Technology, Dubai. The seven booths at Deira City Centre, Al Ghurair Centre, Wafi Mall, Mercato Mall, Oasis Centre, BuJuman and at the Modhesh Fun City located at the Dubai World Trade Centre, all come with one message — the message of Peace and are open from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

"Dubai being a multi-cultural, multi-religious city, it's important that people learn what Islam is about," said Reffat Al Raei, organising member of the Knowledge Surprises week and member of the Dubai Police. "The teachings of our religion come from the Holy Quran and the Hadith (sayings of the Prophet Muhammed — PBUH). And often, with the recent happenings around the world, this religion of peace has been misinterpreted by those who don't know or understand it, and misconstrued by many. It is to dispel such notions and educate the people, especially, the non-Muslims of the real Islam, which literally translates into "peace", that these CDs and other material are being given out free to the public during this week," he said.
