Three of Spain's most talented female artists will be showcasing their distinctive paintings at a unique exhibition at One&Only Royal Mirage this coming May 10-14. The works of the talented young women, Cristina Almodóvar, Raquel de Prada and Lorena Allas have been ...
brought to Dubai by local art exhibitor Marjan Soleimani (Masoumi).
Three powerful artistic discourses are joined together for the first time on this occasion, creating a forum for reflection on authenticity in art. Cristina Almodóvar captures the delicacy of nature's most ephemeral moments, such as flowerings, pollen or seed scattering and stem growth. Through painting and sculpture, her works embody the awe-inspiring reality of nature.
Raquel de Prada uses photographic snapshots as a basis for her paintings, but delineates the outer reality of an image to show its full complexity. Her artistic strength lies in her power to express the intricacy of reality. Lorena Allas paints abstracts that directly and unashamedly render her emotions transparent to the viewer; her inner reality is shown to us here at its most undisguised.
Cristina Almodóvar holds a degree in Fine Arts with a major in sculpture. She embodies her intense representations of the vegetable world in glossy iron, wood, glass and clay without ever denying their sober emotional qualities. She portrays well known but unperceived moments in nature. Vegetables in any shape or form are painted and also sculpted in iron by this artist who does not hesitate to explore their continuity.
Raquel De Prada emphasises that reality is not solely that which the viewer can immediately perceive. This is apparent when expressing reality in art, which demands a more complex effort than simple figurative allusion. Her unique ability as an artist is to refer to outer reality as a source of inspiration without merely creating a "loyal" reflection. By showing one unique perception in different arrangements and art forms, she gives the viewer insight into the complexity of reality. In doing so she powerfully demonstrates her talent for authentic pictorial invention. Fascinated by the interaction of materials and colours, her use of texture is challenging and unconventional, her works distinct and outstanding.
Lorena Allas studied in the School of Fine Art of San Fernando. Her abstracts reflect an internal world, manifested in visible form. She has emotionally undergone years of continuous inner transformation, which she expresses and documents with forceful clarity when turning the painter's eye within. Her works show a vivid interest in the tense almost inimical confrontations between words and images. Lorena Allas has been described as an artist who "works directly on the tense offered canvas of her soul with loyal intuition, seeking for her eyes to see what the heart knows." Passionate, sensitive, full of force and vitality her work is a faithful reflection of herself, always authentic.
