simranSimran, who called it quits following her marriage with her longtime boy friend Deepak, has planned to sue film producer Jolly Joseph and director Vinu Anand for portraying her as a HIV positive patient without her consent.

Simran, who ruled the South Indian film industry for more than eight years by doning glamorous roles, was portrayed as a mysterious woman, who becomes the object of infatuation for a young doctor played by Inderjith in the film.

She has reportedly claimed that the script narrated to her was entirely different and she stopped shooting for the movie the moment she realised that what was being made was very different from what she was told.

The movie, released a few weeks ago, sank without a trace after three days and did no good to Simran's comeback dreams. The film had come as a big shock to Simran's fans. They apparently could never imagine their star playing the role of an Aids patient, who succumbs to the disease.

The former south Indian queen was a rage among the film lovers in her heydays. She has acted with all the top actors in Tamil Cinema today except superstar Rajinikanth. Her career stated to wither away after an unfortunate affair with a top actor. She kept off the industry after her marriage with the Delhi-based lover.

She came back to Chennai after giving birth to a child in a bid to strike big once again. The call for Heartbeats came at a time when she was searching for good roles. The news was received with great fanfare as Simran had said 'no' to many similar offers from the Malayalam film industry.

She said she was disappointed that her debut film in Malayalam ended in legal wrangles. Sources close to the actress said that she was consulting her lawyers to sue the producer and director for Rs200 million.

The producer has expressed his willingess to face the legal battle. He claimed that the actress had received the full payment before she walked out of the sets, and he had the right to complete the film as he wanted it to be.

He said that the actress had refused to cooperate with the crew. "She violated the agreement she had signed with me. I am ready to fight any form of a legal battle with Simran," says Jolly Joseph.
