Shahid gets the royal cold-shoulder

Gone are the days when Rani Mukherji was termed as a sweet-natured, polite, co-operative and friendly actress. Reliable sources say that the actress has turned into a tyrant and the actor who is presently at the receiving end of her rude behaviour is co-star Shahid Kapoor!

Apparently, Rani has taken the meaning of her name a bit too seriously and has been behaving like a queen on the sets of YashRaj's forthcoming untitled film. Poor Shahid is confused and does not know how to re-act. She has been giving him a tough time ever since they begun shooting.

Shahid has now started avoiding her and doesn't interact with heronce the cameras have stopped rolling. Our source from thisfilm's set reveals, "We think it all began when Rani started callingShahid ‘Sir’. Shahid who is much junior to Rani was embarrassed and requested her many times not to call him sir but Rani ignored his requests and continued to refer to him as sir. Shahid felt she was being unnecessarily formal or was it sarcasm? Finally, when it got too much to handle Shahid raised his voice in front of the entire unit telling her to please stop calling him sir. Rani did not take kindly to this and ever since she has been giving him a raw deal.”

Our source continues, "This is the only reason we can think of. Nothing else transpired on the sets. Ever since that day, Rani has turned cold towards him and has been gossiping about him." Reportedly, Rani's tantrums haven't stopped here. The actress, apparently, deliberately saunters in late,takes a lot of time dressing up and keeps Shahid waiting. She also takes long lunchbreaks and hours to touch up her make- up. Moreover, she'snever apologetic for the delay she causes."

Shahid on the other hand isn't reacting to Rani's tantrums because the actor respects her and doesn'twant to clash with a senior actress. A friend of the actor reveals, "Shahid has got on well with most of his co-stars and he has been more than cordial with Rani, but from day one Rani has beentroublinghim. She has been bitching about Shahid behind his back and makes him wait for hours. Shahid just cannot understand why she has been behaving this way with him."

An actress who has worked with Rani recently isn't shocked by Rani's behaviour. She says,“Recently, Rani has been extremely insecure about her work. For some reason, she thinks that she is the boss atYashRaj Films. She behaved badly with director Kunal Kohli too on the sets of Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic. She would report late, waste time on the sets and delay the shoots until Kunal could not take it anymore. He was unable to understand why she was behaving in this manner and reportedly approached Aditya Chopra to intervene. Aditya got Rani and Kunal to sort out their differences and things settled down. Kunal also had a rough time because Rani and Saif could not see eye to eye. Now, the non-controversial and quiet Shahid has to bear the brunt of her uncalled for behaviour. Wonder how all this will end.”
