It was a sweet taste of victory for Afghanistan at the Sharjah stadium which hosted its 250th ODI match, a world record
Dubai’s savvy nightclubbing fraternity certainly know a thing or two about talented international artists, being spoilt as they are for choice when the city’s world-class dance emporiums play host to stars from across the globe. But what makes the experience particularly sweet for these discerning music lovers is when the artist performing hails from the emirate itself.
This was the situation several nights ago; when Dubai-based R&B exponent Sal pulled in the crowds for a packed evening at the Elegante nightspot, Royal Ascot Hotel, Bur Dubai.
“I’m here tonight because I live in Dubai and love Sal’s music,” revealed Mike Mucka, who had left the Rugby Sevens tournament early to ensure he could be at the front of the queue. “He is locally based and that is fantastic for Dubai, but his lyrics are universal and have great appeal for everyone, wherever they live,” added the fan.
“Tonight felt so much more like a concert than a club and it was fantastic to hear everyone in the audience singing along with me when I was on stage,” Sal revealed, as he took a well earned post-set relaxation with the other members of the Sal Productionz team; DJ Teddy Jam, Naseeba and Simba.
