A strong Pinoy force came over to Dubai Autodrome last weekend to witness the gathering of some of the best heavy hitting bands from the Philippines.
Starting off with hard rock performances from Dubai-based Boxtones, and local metal band Goddamn Electric, Rocktoberfest saw slam veterans Quezo, Greyhoundz and Slapshock putting up a solid show for the loyal Filipino fans in attendance.
Quezo set the pace with a standard set, vocalist Ian Tayao howling through effects and lead guitarist OchoToleran letting his hair loose while ripping through the chorus. Halfway through they launched into the crowd-favourite Mottaka that got everyone fired up and ready for the next band.
Greyhoundztook the volume up a notch with front man Reg Rubio's arresting Hupaw kicking off a ground-shaking performance that pulled in everybody to join in their infamous Barangay Tibay (strong community).
Hard working Rap-metal band Slapshock finished off the two-hour show with their tight crew pulling off hit after hit, including the perennial Agent Orange. They ended the epic night with a rare collab performance of Cariño Brutal where vocalist Jamir Garcia called back Greyhoundz and Quezo led Rubio and Tayao to share the stage with him.
