Then an unfortunate incident — an accident that left her physically scarred (she still has a visible scar on the right side of her mouth) ...
forced her to give up showbiz and eventually retire. But now she’s back, and she says, even more excited to face the cameras now than she was all those years ago.
“I’m nervous, but I’m excited at the same time,” says Pia Moran, who is being reintroduced via a role as ex-Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) season two housemate Bodie Cruz’s mother in this month’s episode of Love Spell, titled Bumalaka, Bulalakaw, Boom! Playing the lead roles are two other ex-PBB Season Two housemates, Fourth Big Placer Gee-Ann Abrahan, and Second Big Placer Mickey Perz.
Playing Pia’s husband is Bodie’s real father, 70s matinee idol Tirso Cruz III. It will be the first time that father and son are acting opposite each other on television. That, plus Pia’s return to acting, are what make this episode of Love Spell a much-awaited television event for viewers in the Philippines and on The Filipino Channel (TFC).
But ask Pia, and she’ll tell you that it isn’t just the idea of acting on television again that’s making her nervous. Adding to the pressure is the fact that she has no less than Tirso Cruz III for a co-star in her first TV outing after so long.
