Mustafa will play his first lead role in the latest installment of the prolific filmmaker’s lucrative Madea franchise. He was originally set for Perry’s For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf.
Mustafa plays Calvin, who is struggling with his marriage and family relationships in the film. “I’m just really happy to have gotten this role. It’s one of the leads, where in Colored Girls, I would have been just been in one or two scenes,” he added.
