Answer: his passion for singing gives way to his other passion —which is reading, enabling this noted Pinoy singer/composer to live vicariously in different worlds through books.

"I don't have many," Paolo says. "But the ones I have— autobiographies, transcript of interviews, books on science fiction and Russian history —I treasure for having inspired and moulded me into who I am."

But this particular passion of his wasn't always there. For although he grew up surrounded by books (having a journalist for a father) Paolo then only read ones required in school. Indeed, he has a degree in business economics from De La Salle University, and earned a fellowship in international relations at Webster University in Geneva, Switzerland. But then the academic credential only means that he has burned thousands of pages, albeit with very little pleasure.

Browsing in bookstores is a favourite pastime. Paolo likens the experience to work of anthropologists; the search as important as the find. Paolo didn't have second thoughts to become the endorser of myBookstore.ph, an on-line bookstore owned and run by Mozcom.
