THE TEMPERATURES are set to go soaring this New Year's Eve in Mumbai, courtesy Bipasha Basu and Rakhi Sawant. And this, more specifically towards the Juhu suburb, considering that both bombshells would be performing at separate hotels in the locality.

Bipasha has signed a deal with JW Marriot to perform at the hotel that night. "She will do the countdown around midnight and also perform some hot number," said a source at the hotel.

"This is a solo performance and we have no other stars lined up. Except, of course, an Australian troupe and an Indian band. They will give smaller performances. But Bipasha's is the star act. And no, John is not joining in," the source added.

The tickets would cost around Rs 11,500 per person at the venue, which is much lesser than last year's Rs25,000 at the same venue when it was none other than Mallika Sherawat who had shone down.

Mallika was rumoured to have been approached this year as well, but she demanded almost the double amount she was paid last year. Bipasha fell in as she charged lesser. Also, right now Bipasha might definitely be a better crowd-puller after her stellar performance in Goal. Mallika on the other hand had just two item numbers to her credit this year. Both, of course, did very well.

In the meantime, motor mouth Rakhi Sawant would be giving Bipasha some competition in generating heat as she would be performing at the nearby hotel Tulip Star.

Rakhi would be complimented by her 'baliye' Abhishek as well, taking their 'Nach Baliye' spirit on to another stage. And they will also be joined by DJ Hussain in an attempt to make things better than the others.

The tickets for this one are way cheaper than Marriot — at around Rs7000 per couple. Sources close to Rakhi, who is too busy practicing for 'Nach Baliye's' final round, said that this is one night when Rakhi will do whatever she can to entertain.
