Shaggy will be performing in Dubai on Thursday June 7 at the Madinat Arena, Madinat Jumeirah from 9:00 pm onwards. "The launch of the LIFE Music Festival was a resounding success and this shows that people in Dubai are constantly eager for new entertainment concepts," said Yassin Matbouly, managing director of Vibe Middle East, the event management agency.

"We have managed to bring reggae superstar, Shaggy, for our second LIFE event and we are confident that he is going to put on an outstanding performance on stage," he added.

Shaggy is known to be a master of many styles, from reggae and dance to pop and R&B, so every kind of music fan in Dubai will definitely have a good time.”

Shaggy's international success began in 1993 with the release of his debut album, Pure Pleasure, which featured 'Oh Carolina', one of the biggest hit singles in UK pop history and the first worldwide reggae crossover record to come out of the New York dancehall underground.

His 1995 Boombastic album proved Shaggy’s position as a consistent hit maker, winning the 1996 Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album while the title track topped Billboard’s Reggae, R&B and Rap charts. It also became the No 1 selling single and hit No 3 on Billboard’s Hot 100 Single Charts.

Following his breakout success with an extensive world tour, Shaggy released his third album, Midnite Love in 1997. By then, Shaggy's diverse pop, reggae, and R&B listeners had been firmly established. In 2000, the reggae superstar released his massively successful MCA album, Hot Shot, with its global number one singles, 'It Wasn’t Me' and 'Angel'.

Tickets will be on sale from Friday May 18 at 10am. They are priced at Dhs190 for Regular and 250 for VIP.
