Minogues’ family history revealed
Singer Kylie and her sister Dannii Minogue’s family history has been unearthed, revealing their mother was one of the Britons who went to Australia on a 10-pound ticket in 1955 to start a new life there.
The Aussie singers have learned their relatives’ secrets after passenger lists from a 1950s emigration scheme listed their mother, Carol Jones, reports dailystar.co.uk.
The stars’ mother was born in Wales, but moved to Australia when she was 12 years old with her parents to start a new life in the country. Carol married Kylie and Dannii’s father Ron Minogue, before settling in Melbourne, where they still live.
“People come up to me and tell me they think I’m more British than the British. I’ve lived here (in Britain) for more than 10 years and I feel totally at home - though in my heart I’ll always be an Aussie,” Kylie was quoted as saying.
