The lineup consists of three bands — Melechesh, Bilocate and Kaoteon.

Headliners Melechesh formed 16 years ago in Jerusalem, taking their name from the Hebrew words for ‘king’ and ‘fire’. The band specialise in black metal, but incorporate Mesopotamian sounds into their music as well.

Nowadays, the group base themselves in Amsterdam. Their last album Emissaries was hailed by many as their best offering to date.

Bilocate began in Jordan in 2003, when brothers Ramzi and Waseem Essayed got together with their friend Hani Al Abadi to form the nucleus of the group. The death Metallers released Sudden Death Syndrome last year, with the album hailed by one critic as “a tasteful and sophisticated piece of work that determinedly puts the Jordanian metal scene on the map”.

Extreme metal band Kaoteon started in Lebanon more than a decade ago. Originally a one-man project by Anthony Kaoteon, the group quickly began to gather steam.

Their demo Provenance of Hatred was distributed throughout the world, and the Beirut-based outfit plan on releasing debut album Veni Vidi Vomui later this year.
