Kareena Kapoor’s relationship with Shahid Kapoor turned the fiery Bebo into Miss Congenialtiy, but looks like the same Shahid is having the opposite effect on his current girlfriend - Priyanka Chopra.
The former Miss World has lately turned to the social networking site Twitter and is hitting out at anybody and everybody – from Mallika Sherwat to her Dostana director Tarun Mansukhani.
Priyanka who has always maintained a diplomatic stance has all of a sudden emerged into a fire-cracker and is making good use of the social networking site.
Recently when Tarun asked his fans on twitter ‘Who should be the next Desi Girl!’, he got a lot of responses including one from Priyanka which read “No one can replace me.”
Industry sources reveal that since Priyanka starred in Dostana, she wants to act in the sequel as well. “Priyanka believes that she played a huge role in the success of Dostana and hence she should be considered for the sequel also but she has been hearing reports that Tarun is considering a fresh face and is upset about it. She has heard that her arch rival, Katrina is being considered. So she let her ire loose on Twitter.”
And a few days prior to blasting Tarun, Priyanka upset Mallika Sherawat who had proclaimed herself the queen of Twitter. Mallika had claimed that with 8,000 fans she had the highest number of followers on the website than any other Bollywood celebrity. But Priyanka later posted that she had a record of 10,000 fans on the same site and had beaten Mallika. Obviously this didn’t go down too well with Ms Sherawat.
Mallika who was in Los Angeles at the time to complete post-production work on her forthcoming film Hiss actually visited the headquarters of the website, interacted with the CEO and even danced with him.
Mallika later added, “I was encouraged by Twitter employees to get more Bollywood celebrities and their fans on Twitter, and I’m so happy Priyanka fell into my trap!”
Not one to stop at that, motor-mouth Mallika went on to say, “In a country of over a billion, we still have a long way to go. 10,000 followers on Twitter is just the beginning. And in the end, whether it’s the number of followers one has on Twitter, or like most other things - it’s not the size that matters, it’s what you do with them that counts.”
Buzz is that Mallika’s comments haven’t gone down too well with Priyanka who has been telling her friends in the industry, “I didn’t have to resort to cheap tactics and dressing down to gain fans. Everyone knows what Mallika is famous for!”
Looks like yet another female rivalry has just begun.
