The Light Between Oceans
Alicia Vikander, Michael Fassbender and Rachel Weisz: what a cast! This tear-jerking drama is also the perfect environment in which they can also shine.
Set just after the First World War, Fassbender's character Tom is hired as lighthouse keeper in Western Australia. There he meets local girl Isabel (Vikander) and the two get married and try for a family. The couple suffers two miscarriages before a 'miracle' occurs. A baby appears in a boat. Raising the girl as their own, the three are blissfully happy until the girl's suspected mother (Weisz) comes to town. Do Tom and Isabel reveal their secret?
While the plot may appear pure airport lounge reading, the performances will give this picture gravitas.
IMDb gives it 7.3
Trivia
The movie was shot in Tasmania, a relatively rare location for film production.

Scare Campaign
We're not the biggest fans of horror, but this Australian picture actually looks quite good.
Imagine the victim turning the tables on those prank shows which produce viral clips. You must have seen them in real life. Usually made in Brazil or Japan, you'll have a little girl dressed as a ghost, for example, appearing in a lift with people going about their day and cameras rigged up to capture every terrifying moment.
This is similar to the premise of the movie's fictional prank show Scare Campaign. Someone is invited to an abandoned hospital and filmed walking round being scared. Except this time the victim is an ex patient/ crazed murderer and all the pranksters are now on the run.
IMDb gives it 5.7
Trivia
Just type 'ghost prank' into Youtube to see real-life stunts.
