IF YOU'RE UNAWARE of trampoline club Bounce, found in Al Quoz Dubai, it is one of the best ways to get fit and have fun.
A warehouse full of springy mats and thumping tunes mean you're going to jump away those pounds without even realising it.
We speak to the club's resident DJ Sunny to find out about what to expect.
What sounds do you bring to your venue, what can the crowd expect from one of your sets?
When I'm playing a set at Bounce in Al Quoz, I like to keep my style as varied as possible. I usually mix it up and play a bit of hip-hop, RnB, Trap, Dubstep and House, as well as UK Bhangra and Desi. Not everyone has the same taste so it's good to be able to mix a bit of everything, making sure to keep the crowd at BOUNCE After Dark on their feet and having a great time. One thing you can be sure of is that I'll always drop a Dutch House track - it's my specialty!
How does it feel to play there and in Dubai in general?
Bounce is such a fun and unique venue so it really is an awesome feeling to play there. I am born and raised in Dubai so it feels amazing to be able to play in front of my home crowd. The people of Dubai are always in the mood to party and it never ceases to amaze me how enthusiastic they are, even before my set starts.
What is your opinion of the UAE's DJ scene?
There are so many opportunities for up and coming DJs in the UAE because the music scene is so diverse. With the increase in the number of world-class music events happening in the city, Dubai's DJs have more opportunities than ever to showcase their sound to an international audience.
Who are your influences and favourite artists right now?
There are so many talented producers these days so it's hard to choose just one. I take inspiration from well-known producers, as well as up and coming ones - a couple of favourites being DJ Chuckie and Tiesto. They've both made a massive contribution to dance music over the years and they will always stay relevant.
Is there a genre of music you'll never touch?
I love all music! I think you can take inspiration from any genre and make it your own so I'll never say never to anything!
What is the best type of music/song to get the party started and one to close the night?
You've got to drop something upbeat at the beginning of the set to make an entrance and get the crowd pumped right from the start. I always tend to play my favourite track, Armin Van Buuren's Ping Pong at the end of my set at Bounce as it's a real crowd pleaser and never fails to get everyone bouncing.
What is your ultimate musical ambition?
To some day play a set alongside my idol, Tiesto.
