Jason Abalos from Nueva Ecija, who has so far finished three movies:All About Love under Star Cinema, I Wanna Be Happy under Seiko Films and White Lady under Regal Entertainment.

Jason says that he's just lucky to have projects both on television and the movies. His batch-mates at SCQ 2, especially the chosen Magic Circle of 5 composed of Erich Gonzales (the proclaimed winner), Aaron Villaflor, Paw Diaz, DM Sevilla and Charles Christianson don't have any big project to be proud about.

'I'm just lucky I guess,' Jason smiles. 'I didn't expect all these projects to come my way. To think I was eliminated early during the SCQ contest. I thought I would not have a career in showbiz ever. But even before the contest was finished, I was already doing many guestings. So I really waited and all my waiting paid off.'

The young man from Central Luzon lived a simple and normal life as a teenager. He dreamt of being in Manila and being successful but he never thought of being an actor. 'It was all like asking for the moon before,' Jason reminisces. 'I was a dreamer before but I never dreamt this big. I just wanted to finish school and be a good engineer like my dad. I was already in my sophomore year at Nueva Ecija Science and Technology College taking up civil engineering when I joined SCQ.

'It was a hard decision for me to choose between school and joining the contest. But I think I made the right choice. I'm still keen on finishing my course, though. I wasn't able to enroll here in Manila this year because of the three movies I was shooting. I was also busy finishing the TV soap drama Vietnam Rose that's why I've had a tough schedule. Maybe next year when my load is not as hectic, I would go back to school.'

Jason says that all the movies he has done were all so memorable. Like in All About Love, he was paired with his Vietnam Rose love team, Angelica Panganiban. In I Wanna Be Happy, Jason was starstruck by Eddie Garcia and Gloria Romero who played his grandparents in the Jose Javier Reyes film.

And in the horror film 'White Lady,' Jason portrays a bad boy who becomes responsible for the accidental death of a young probinsyana (provincial lass) in their school campus, again played by Angelica.

Jason has a making of a matinee idol and with the right project, he can be one of local cinema‚s newest leading men. 'I want to try out drama because I think I'm good at it. I still have to improve a lot especially with the way I deliver my lines. I‚ve worked with direk Joel Lamangan in Vietnam Rose and he was very helpful. He says that I have potential and I‚m flattered that he thinks so.

'Physically, I need to work out more. I'm 5-feet-11-inches tall and I need to buff up my body.'
