Jane comes out of the water

Jane considers herself fortunate that at her young age, she has already co-starred with the likes of Claudine, Kristine Hermosa, Cesar Montano and Maricel Soriano. Jane played the young Kristine in Sana'y Wala Nang Wakas and the daughter of Cesar and Maricel in Bida Si Mister, Bida Si Misis.

And like the other Star Magic talents, Jane also has a long list of commercials to her name, including those for Colgate, Nido, Caltex, Vaseline, Smart, Magnolia Cheezee and McDonalds.

Jane started her career at ABS-CBN when she was only five years old, when she became part of Ang TV 2. Even then, it was obvious that she was a talented youngster with a bright future in showbusiness.

The perky fifth grader, who turned 10 last July 22, says she enjoyed her stint in Marina. “I love swimming,” she says.

She had to take special lessons, though, to prepare her for the role. The lessons, which took place in a swimming pool, in waters that were 12 feet deep, lasted three days.

Now, Jane is seen regularly as part of Goin' Bulilit. But she is still looking forward to doing another sitcom. She doesn't know what's in store for her, but whatever it is, she'll be happy to accept it. “I'm not choosy [when it comes to roles]. As long as I'm given a chance to work, I'll do it,” she says.

Fortunately, Jane is one child who knows her priorities. Even as she goes about her showbiz career, she realizes that her studies have to take precedence over everything else.
