In the celebrity world, it seems that giving your child an unusual name is a must.
So say hello to Petal Blossom Rainbow, the third child for Jamie Oliver and his wife Jools.
The couple have clearly adopted a floral theme for their family - Petal’s sisters are Poppy Honey, seven, and Daisy Boo, five.
Mrs Oliver, 34, gave birth at London’s Portland Hospital and later posed for photographs outside with her husband and new daughter.
In a statement, the couple said: “Jamie and Jools are both completely smitten with Petal already and Jamie is looking forward to two weeks’ paternity leave to spend quality time with his four beautiful girls.”
Petal had been due on Wednesday - the same day that her father cooked for President Obama and the other G20 leaders at Downing Street. Oliver was banned from taking his mobile phone with him for security reasons, so his wife was told to call No 10 officials if she went into labour.
The trend for unconventional names was encouraged by Bob Geldof and the late Paula Yates, who named their children Fifi Trixibelle, Peaches Honeyblossom Michelle Charlotte Angel, and Pixie.
Miss Yates’s daughter with singer Michael Hutchence is called Heavenly Hiraani Tigerlily.
Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow’s daughter is Apple, Geri Halliwell’s is Bluebell Madonna, while David and Victoria Beckham named their eldest son Brooklyn after New York district in which he was conceived.
