Four others to drive away a luxury vehicle each
The victim informed the police that the accused came to his office and sold him a Volvo car for Dh180,000. He said he paid Dh31,500 in cash and Dh49,500 by cheque.
But even after encashing the cheque, Ali Riza failed to give the victim the car's registration papers. Later, the company that owned the car took it away from him, the victim told the police.
The police managed to nab Ali Riza on May 24. On interrogation, he confessed that he had received the amounts, and that the car belonged to his brother who was in Iran. He said his brother had authorised him to sell the car. On being referred to the court, he promised to return the amount, which he took from the victim.
