Inigo Pascual is all revved up to inject his brand of music in the next biggest musical festival to watch in the Middle East, "One Music X"
The excitement has shifted to a higher gear as the next music experience to watch, "One Music X", counts down to the much-awaited fusion of Philippine music and Dubai's indie acts among others, on November 3 at the Dubai Media City Amphitheatre.
Youngest among the elite lineup is the Teen Singing Sensation Inigo Pascual, who may have started much later in the game but is expected to bring in the most thrills especially from the younger members of the crowd. Born to a famous father, the Philippines' Ultimate Kapamilya Heartthrob Piolo Pascual, the younger Pascual had it already in him even when he was a young Filipino in the U.S.
However, rather than jumping into his comfort zone, Pascual started his career in the performing arts first when he starred in the film "Relaks, It's Just Pag-ibig" in 2014, produced by Spring Films. Since then, he has latched on one acting project after another.
While he was making waves starring in a string of youth-oriented flicks, Pascual could not help but make a u-turn to his first love - music. In 2016, he finally decided to pursue his musical career and launched his self-titled debut album, Inigo Pascual. While pursuing his passion for singing, he slowly got out the shadows of his famous father and started making a name for himself.
"I don't think there's any formula, I just used my passion", he says when asked about how he got out of his father's shadow. "I really worked hard for it (I just focused on my passion and really worked hard for it)".
Pascual's musical feat started coming in June, after making history when he became the first OPM artist to hit the number one spot at the Billboard Philippines Top 20, with his hit single Dahil Sa 'yo reigning the spot for ten weeks. The same song also won Song of the Year at theAlta Media Icon Awards.
He also clinched a series of awards such as the Best New Artist of the Year at the MOR Music Awards 2017, and most recent of which is the Male Music Artist of the Year at the 7th EdukCircle Awards.
Thinking that the accolades are already too much for a newbie, Pascual got another surprise when American trio Airspoken took notice of his song Dahil Sa'yo, and recently uploaded a video where they mashed up his hit with the songs "Havana" and "Rockstar" by international artists Camila Cabello and Post Malone, respectively.
Truly, 2017 was a great year for Pascual because of the highlights of his musical journey.
Pascual got the chance to perform overseas this year and was balled by the warm reception he received for his first performance abroad - the TFC Sama Saya component of the 24th Pistahan Parade & Festival 2017 last August.
This November, Pascual is ready to take to the international stage once again for One Music X. Although he admits the thought of performing alongside the Philippines' best, Pascual wants to use the opportunity to introduce his style as an artist. "As much as possible I want to be able to relate with them, and hopefully they like my music (I want to introduce to them my own style as an artist. Also, as much as possible I want to be able to relate with them, and hopefully they like my music)", he explains.
