“I consider myself very desi and I want the world to get the taste of India in my music. Though it’s an English album, I didn’t want my songs to be completely western. I wanted to have a little Indianness in it too, so we have used a lot of Indian instruments,” Priyanka said.
“As and when I unravel more of my songs, you will see a lot of Indian influences, even in the video. It’s a mix-match of global music,” she added.
The actress says she is overwhelmed by the response she has received.
“When we came to know that my single has gone triple platinum, which hasn’t happened to pop artists here, it was a really big deal for me,” she said.
“The sales of the song have been shocking for me. I didn’t expect such an encouraging response from the people. I believe it was the curiosity among people, wanting to listen to me that led to such an overwhelming response,” she added.
