“Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” stars Johnny Depp, reprising his role of Captain Jack Sparrow, and Penelope Cruz, Sparrow’s foil and equal in many ways, in a tale revolving around the Fountain of Youth.

Rob Marshall will direct from a script by Terry Rossio and Ted Elliot.

Blackbeard, a real-life pirate whose name was Edward Teach, piloted the ship Queen Anne’s Revenge. McShane also starred in the short-lived TV series “Kings” and did voice work in “Coraline” and “Kung Fu Panda.”
