Have you been conned at anytime?

Thankfully never! I think it’s because of the kind of people I deal with who are thorough professionals and who have earned great respect for the work they do.

Tell us more about your special number with Sanjay Dutt and Anil Kapoor in the film.

This is the song that introduces my character to the film. This song will be a landmark moment in my career, because for the first time two legendary actors come together to shake a leg. I am the lucky one to be sharing a dance number with a Khalnayak on one side and a Nayak on the other!

Is it true that Anil Kapoor convinced you to shed your girl-next-door image for the movie?

He did not have to convince me to do anything. There was no convincing required for this film because I knew I was playing an actress and what all was required of it. Everything about my character was completely left to my interpretation. I wasn’t a bit apprehensive because if such was the case I wouldn’t have starred in this film. Even getting Manish Malhotra on board was Anil and my collective decision. Manish is someone I completely trust as a visionary.

How was Akshaye Khanna as a co-star?

My first impression of Akshaye was made when I worked with him in Deewaar; at that time I was a complete newcomer. I clearly remember how he helped me with a song that was quite difficult for me; he went out of his way to guide me which was absolutely commendable. I think that has made a lasting impression on me.

Is Arshad as funny in person as he is onscreen?

Arshad is in his best elements in the film, but he is even funnier than Circuit of Munnabhai in real life. I know he’s going to be outstanding in this film. Be it onscreen or off-screen, Arshad has a really serious funny bone to him. He’s the life of any event.

Did you ever think the makeover was too drastic for you?

I knew exactly what I wanted from this change. This makeover wasn’t drastic for me but I never knew it would make such an impact.

Since marriage is a no-no for the next 10 years, are you looking for love?

If love happens then it happens but I’m not going to stand at my window and shout out for it. The men that I would want to date, are Hrithik Roshan and Ashton Kutcher, but sadly they are happily married. The only unmarried guy that I would love to date is Jude Law.

What appeals to you in a man?

Character is certainly the vital thing that appeals to me because character can propel intelligence in a positive direction.

Who is more handsome: George Clooney or Brad Pitt?

Jude Law is the best!

Name three women in Bollywood who are hot.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sushmita Sen and Kareena Kapoor.

If given a chance what would be the one thing you want to rewrite about your life?

Nothing at all, I have no complaints!

Short takes with Amrita

Bollywood’s bikini queen: Shilpa Shetty.

Describeyourself in three words: Versatile, intelligent and simple.

Favourite designers: Manish Malhotra and Swapnil Shinde.

Most expensive thing bought so far: A Versace handbag for which I spent over a lakh.

One non-actor you consider hot: Farah Khan.
