Tell us about the initial stages of your foray into acting.

I was very young, when I took the plunge into acting. During my initial days, I was fortunate to get the opportunity to work with greats like Hussain Fahmy, Mervat Amen and the like. Directors have been very encouraging, like the late Fahmy Abd Al Hamed. But till now, I am waiting for my real break in Arabic films.

What are the most memorable roles that you have played so far?

There are many, like my role in the films The Wated Hearts, Ship Rider and Whisper in a storm.

What is your dream role?

A role that touches the audience's heart. I am not bothered about the length of the role, but the character has to be strong. Even if I appear on the screen for five minutes, that should create an everlasting impression.

What do you have to say about the Arab film industry?

I respect myself a lot and what is happening in the Arab film world troubles me. I am not one to run behind anyone to get roles. But despite all this, I maintain good professional relations with everyone in the field.

But you don't seem to have been lucky in this field?

It is for you to ask the directors why it is so.

What are your dreams for your professional as well as personal life?

I dream to be like the great actress Faten Hamama. As for my personal life, I wish I meet the man of my dreams who loves me with all his heart.
