strucamera angles etc. Modelling helped me survive in Mumbai. It helped me realise my dreams.

When you are already a face to reckon with in adverts, did being kept under wraps till Naqaab's release help?

Naqaab is a suspense thriller. It was a well-thought out strategy by the Tauranis to keep the suspense element in the film intact. I trusted their judgement. They have presented me in a sensual manner in Mika's Something Something and then in another manner in Atif's Doorie. With a complex character under my belt in Naqaab, the perfect scope to showcase my versatility, could I have asked for more? Maybe in the overall context of the film, it adds to the mystery level too.

Speaking of mystery, Ramesh Taurani had said, We want the audience to judge Urvashi's performance unbiased. Did you feel keeping yourself covered pre-release would help mystify the audience?

To an extent, yes. For my role in the film, an actor with no image was a prerequisite. I fit the bill.

Your co-star Bobby Deol has said that you have something extra that sets you apart. What is that extra something he is hinting at?

Why not ask him that? I am confident of my talent and am a staunch supporter that hard work yields results. Since I come from a humble background, I understand what it takes to achieve one's dreams.

Do you ever have nightmares thinking that you might get typecast due to your looks?

Not really. Talent always emerges the winner. In fact, when in modelling, I have been featured in commercials across brands, and that too with different looks.

Professionally speaking, are you feeling secure having bagged an eight film contract with the Tauranis?

I am comfortable with it all. Though I am on contract, I can still do films with other banners. Naqaab is the first film in the eight film contract in five years. Thankfully, I have worked hard and have been duly rewarded. Fortunately, for me, I didn't have to struggle.

But won't it take a lot of struggle to stay afloat as a fresher what with Bollywood brimming with star kids?

There is space for all. SRK is a role model from Delhi and he sure has proved his space.

What do you think of the idea that being launched with a star kid would mean guaranteed attention?

Speaking about myself, I can say that Naqaab is the best launch for a fresher like me.

Once a star do you wish to throw a starry tantrum?

Can I commit to throw a tantrum? Thankfully, in all my modelling days, I have avoided earning this tag and I hope to keep it clear.

But isn't negative publicity also publicity?

Negative publicity is always negative, it can never be positive It has its restrictions.
