Housemate comes home

This should lay to rest speculations that ABS-CBN and Star Magic — which recently took over the careers of the PBB and Pinoy Dream Academy alumni — do not have plans for Bea, who bested Mickey Perz, Wendy Valdez and Gee-Ann Abrahan in the second season of the popular reality show, but who, ironically, had to wait the longest for her big break. Mickey, who placed second, and fourth-placer Gee-Ann had already been given their own episode of Love Spell. Mickey, along with fellow PBB 2 housemate Saicy Aguila, is also part of the Supahdance segment on ASAP ’07. Wendy, the controversial and, say some, the most hated housemate of Season Two, got her big break ahead of Bea after she was assigned the title role in the primetime TV drama Margarita.

Aside from Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition, Bea also has a featured role in One More Chance, the forthcoming John Lloyd Cruz-Bea Alonzo movie under Star Cinema. She plays Anj, a female friend of John Lloyd. Her character is “headstrong, likes to speak up for herself, and is very straightforward, although she’s a bit cynical when it comes to love”. Now that she’s getting all these breaks, Bea says, it just goes to show that ABS-CBN was not lying when it said that it had plans for all of them. “That’s what they said, and I believe them,” says Bea in an exclusive interview on the day she found out that she was being tapped to co-host Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition. “I’ve always believed them, that they have plans for each of us. I guess it was just timing, or it was just coincidence that the others got projects ahead of me.”
