The book 'King of Bollywood: Shah Rukh Khan and the Seductive World of Indian Cinema', which has actually been a best seller, will hit the Berlin book stalls on January 30, a week ahead of the premiere. The book was originally published by the Warner Books and sold over 10,000 copies in India. The German version will be published by Rapid Eye Movies, a movie distribution company that gets into publishing with this book. "Germans love Bollywood and especially love Shah Rukh Khan. I hope they find my book as colourful, dramatic and engaging as our films," said an excited Anupama Chopra.
The book has previously been released in Hindi and Marathi and will also be released in Malayalam and Indonesian. It has also received some good reviews all across. Director Mira Nair commented that the book "is a bounty for cinema lovers everywhere," while Oscar-winning actress Emma Thompson described it as "The 'Easy Rider, Raging Bull' of the Bollywood industry and essential reading for any Shah Rukh Khan fan."
However, with the timing of the release of the book being so close to the German premiere of 'OSO', it does raise a few speculations. Wonder what the mastermind Shah Rukh is planning this time around.
