Currently he is hosting Chand Chura Ke Laya Hoon and Meri Galiyan Mere log. The former is a programme essentially focused on Hindi retro music from the 1960s-90s. The popular programme is aired on Cool 94.7fm and is strategically planned for people who love retro music. Meri Galiyan mere log which is a weekly show takes listeners down memory lane and Gagan is known for making everyone emotional and at the same time bringing a smile on their faces.

Gagan is among the very few RJs who have both class and mass appeal. In an exclusive interview with City Times Gagan Mudgal talks about his plans for 2010, his new play New Visit Visa and his film career.

How does it feel to be back in Dubai after you left in 2006?

It feels great and it is so true that Dubai never lets you go. Even when I was in Mumbai I kept coming to Dubai every six months. Mumbai and Dubai have given me everything. Dubai has given me money, fame and amazing love from listeners and Mumbai has taught me how to stay grounded and work hard always. Cool 94.7FM has given me a chance to interact once again with my listeners. I left Dubai in 2006. My popular programme had left a mark on people - that is the main reason why I thought of coming back. Chand Chura Ke Laya Hoon is an effort to choose the best of Hindi retro music and present it to people who connect through these songs. My efforts while hosting the show is only to play the best that sets a benchmark for people to plug in to the programme.

Could you tell us more about your play New Visit Visa?

The play had received a fabulous response last time. I love that play, since as an actor it feels great to be alone on stage and do 15 characters. This time I have made lots of changes in the script. I am sure people will love that. I had also organised an innovative concept of play reading at Jam Jar recently.

How is your film career taking off?

My new film titled Tera Kya Hoga Johnny is scheduled to release around March- April. The movie is directed by Sudhir Mishra and stars Neil Nitin Mukesh. I have also written the screenplay and dialogues for two films for E Niwas and Hriday Shetty.
