forYESTERDAY, A tripartite agreement was signed between the Council of International Fashion Designers USA, Council of Fashion Designers UAE and Fashion Pakistan, benchmarking the beginning of collaboration and commitment towards each other's design fraternity.

Creations Fashion Week commenced as a platform to nurture the region's nascent talent, giving shape to many a dreams. This year it pushes the style quotient higher; launching 'Creations Awards for Aspiring Designers' adding edge of competition to creativity. At a glam filled evening at the BurJuman, Zahra Mohammed, a young Emirati designer, won the award for her technically sound and innovative ensembles.

Selected by luminary judges; Beth Sabol of Miami Fashion Week, Maheen Khan of Fashion Council Pakistan and Yusuff Mubarak of DSF, Zahra was one of the seven finalist. On winning, a teary eyed all chocked up young Zahra was overwhelmed by the her winning and the onus of being a proud first representative of the UAE, to showcase threads of traditions- Abaya and shelas along with Prêt a Porter- with its cultural nuances at this year's Miami Fashion Week.

The evening also saw the signage of a tripartite signalling a commitment for collaboration to each other's talent and sharing key market information and ideologies.

Deepak Perwani of Fashion Pakistan said, "We are extremely excited to be signing this MOU, as we have a common heritage and history. This is a pronouncement of cross cultural collaborations between democratically elected councils who want to further the cause of design and fashion for the betterment of not just the designer but the million of workers dependent on this industry across the world."
