Republic of the Philippines, who was much-loved by his people (for being 'a man of the masses'), as well as greatly admired around the world.

Known simply as 'The Guy,' the highly popular Magsaysay exemplified ideals of honesty, integrity, hard work and selfless service during his lifetime. His greatness of spirit, thus, inspires Asia's premier prize, the Ramon Magsaysay Award.

'My Guy Redux' seeks to reintroduce Magsaysay to generations who have not been privileged to know him or to live under his dynamic leadership. Part 1 of the series captures the essence of his life from childhood to manhood, focusing on the transformation of a seemingly ordinary life into a heroic life of leadership and honour.

Part 2 puts in perspective the Guy's meteoric rise to the presidency, hoisted by a people who were energised by his youthful energy and his avowed total dedication to the people and his duties as a public servant.

The film series will start a Ramon Magsaysay Filmcade in 2007 to mark the birth centennial of the late president, and in the long term to bring the documentary to various schools and educational and youth forums nationwide.
