Monday December 30

Cirque Du Soleil launches its epic show today, based around the late King of Pop at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour has been viewed and praised by millions of fans and features dancers who worked with Jackson for years. Tuesday December 31

Get ready to experience a city-wide celebration to end the old year and invite 2014. Dubai is going to celebrate the end of a spectacular year by attempting to enter the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest fireworks display in the world! There will be three prime locations that will hold official fireworks displays around Dubai: The Palm Jumeirah, Burj Khalifa and Jumeirah Beach.

The Dubai Shopping Festival kicks off today and the extravaganza will put residents in a festive mood through its unique blend of shopping, raffles and entertainment.

Hollywood actress and style icon Blake Lively will be at The Dubai Mall’s Galeries Lafayette at 6pm for a fragrance launch. Customers who purchase a large bottle of Gucci Première will get the chance to meet her in person.

Saturday January 4

Made in Tunisiais back! The one-man comedy show and play, performed by the famous actor and author Lotfi Abdelli, discusses several social issues in Tunisia and the Middle East. Catch the show at DUCTAC, Mall of the Emirates at 7.30pm. Tickets start at Dhs150 and are available at the door.
