Dare to bare, babes

Rakhi Sawant: Rakhi Firebrand Sawant makes no bones about being the bindaas babe of Bollywood. The quotable queen of the film industry has a thriving career, thanks to her irreverent and unapologetic sound bytes.

rakFrom an item girl to a super girl to being on KJo's show, Rakhi has loudmouthed it all!

Ask her if she has ever felt apologetic after passing those oh-so-straight comments and she pulls a face. "Kis baat ke liye?" She adds, I used to have tiffs everywhere and I remember sticking to my point always. I don't shy away from giving somebody a royal piece of my mind if I feel that person needs or deserves it. And I don't baulk at pointing out my mistakes too."

Rakhi asserts that she respects everybody, from a gatekeeper to a multi-millionaire. "You can become a millionaire in no time. A gatekeeper may earn millions overnight. Then why not respect him from the word go?" asks Rakhi.

And Rakhi exercises her vocal chords the most when the opportunity is to take pot-shots at netas. She says, "When these people look at me, they think I'll talk clubs and disco. I have an evil tongue and I'm not afraid of anything. Those who are afraid can stay shut."

She might be out of sight these days, but Miss Sherawat is hard to forget. The original byte queen, her plunging necklines, fiery words and unending onscreen kisses never failed to make news. And her attitude sure gave her an edge, because her kitty soon filled up with some good projects. After which, this siren promptly withdrew from the limelight. But we're missing her when we talk of irreverence, so here's a quick flashback:

Talking about marriage and the men of her choice, she had said, "Having the same man every night is boring. I have just moved into my own house and I have crossed many time zones to get where I am today. While most other actresses go godfather hunting, I've preferred to ruffle feathers. I don't believe in playing games."

Jackie Chan's film The Myth has been a high point in Mallika's career and the babe took a pot-shot at most other pretty actresses once she was back from Cannes. "Somebody remarked that they had seen many Indian beauties but this was the first time they saw an Indian 'babe'. I thought that was quite a cool thing to say," said the irreverent Mallika.

And she's made no secret of the fact that's she's anything but diplomatic. "I like being myself," she said. "Putting up a fake smile is tedious."
