Mass arrests as demonstrations spread from Columbia and Yale to other US universities
The Oscar-winning actress wowed the crowds in London’s Leicester Square when she turned out for the premiere of her film thriller State Of Play wearing a figure-hugging Donna Karan dress.
She outshone several guests who were far younger. Some of them chose to wear attention grabbing tutus and skimpy summer dresses in the sunshine, but all eyes were diverted to Dame Helen’s elegant frame.
The outfit — which, in a rather different way, was no less eyecatching than the barely-there red bikini she famously wore on holiday last year — was teamed with Jimmy Choo shoes.
Dame Helen was joined by her co-star Russell Crowe who himself, now newly slimmed-down for his role in the upcoming film Robin Hood, looked dashing in a grey suit and aviator sunglasses.
Dame Helen plays a ruthless newspaper editor in the political thriller, which has been adapted from a BBC mini series. Crowe, 45, plays an investigative journalist in the film.
The movie’s director Kevin Macdonald said: “Helen’s very sexy and authoritative and is brilliant when she’s giving Russell a telling off in the film.”
