This would be done through a three-day culture and arts festival from May 30 to June 1 at Clamshell 2, Intramuros, Manila.

Dubbed 'Wow Bata 2: Bata, Karapata'y Ihayag sa Sining at Kultura Ilahad,' the event will provide an avenue for children and youth, supported by international child-centred non-government organisation Plan Philippines, to showcase their talents in the different fields of arts and culture.

Children will be the stars in their own show featuring various forms of arts such as dance, theatre, music, film and visual arts, among others. At the same time, their works and performances will depict important issues affecting children with themes revolving around the fundamental rights of a child.

Community children will spend an afternoon with children in child-care institutions in Manila, interact with children under special protection and share learning experiences with them.

The insights gained from this activity will be processed and expressed in different skills — workshops on painting, sculpture, dance, theatre, writing, photography, flower arrangement, balloon designing and junk recycling. Nightly presentations will showcase regional cultures while tackling the plight of the Filipino children and the problems surrounding them such as child labour, child trafficking, child prostitution and other forms of child abuse.
