If there ever was a listing for the most heinous violation of human rights it has to be the 9/11 attacks. As people, our perception of these tragedies has been largely based on what the American media has fed us with.

However, after the recent article that appeared in City Times, I was tempted for once, to believe that there might be a greater evil design behind the incident, and that it is not entirely the handiwork of the Al Qaeda. It's newspapers like yours which awaken the consciousness with ordinary people like us. Keep up the good work. - Lisa

Anshuman, you have a way with words that makes even the worst tragedy look like a blessing in disguise. And you always make it seem that there are valuable lessons to be learnt from every tragedy. In any case, the alternative is truly unbearable. - Martin

I was really disappointed to note that Sports Times did not cover the current hockey tournament. In the August 20 edition you did not cover the matches that were held on the 19th — there were around three or four matches that day. This was a big tournament which included teams of Australia, Netherlands, S.Korea, Pakistan, Germany, India, etc. - Sami Salahuddin

As someone who has always supported the cause of PETA, I am happy that City Times underlined the sheer barbarity that involved in killing of chickens, but what I did not like is that the article went ahead and said that free-range chickens are safer to eat. Non-vegetarianism is a curse on civilized society, and only vegetarians deserve to be applauded for their efforts in bringing forth a happy, non-violent world. - John Davies

Chandroo, how can you remain as cool as a cucumber? What is the mantra you have and who is the guru who taught you how to hold your temper? Do tell. - Katie

Duane, let me give you a tip about unexpected changes in one's life, there is a caveat that say, life is what happens to you while you are busy making other plans! - Naresh

Would someone please tell that Vanit to stop acting like a buffoon. Sooner or later someone is going to punch him on his nose and I wish I could be there to see it.- Couch Potato

Mr. Galadari, I have been reading your comments for a very long time, in fact since the time you started writing the column. There are times you shoot from the left and times you shoot from the right. I don't know anyone here who writes the way you do. You always hit your target. - Chris Wilson

Dear editor can't there be a raise in the retirement age. I was forced into retirement at the age of 62, I am and have been as capable of performing the duties I was responsible for at the time of my forced retirement.- S Issac

Gita, why the hell is City Times after Tony Blair? You have a problem if he goes on holiday and you don't seem to like the fact that he uses cosmetics to dress up his rather ordinary Brit looks. A bloke needs to look good to feel good. I am sure all you guys at KT are pretty badly dressed and that explains your jealous attitude towards the modern man. He's a metrosexual in my opinion and one that our generation looks up to. Though, I must say that he does not look very good in his apple chuddies. - N Gill

The world is coming to an end. I am sure about it. Look at it, we are surrounded by terrorists who want to blow us to smithereens, then chickens are also exacting their revenge upon us by getting infected with bird flu (and I love chicken). Of the little that is left of life, colleagues at my office are making sure that I have a hell of a time. KT please rescue this employee from the depths of despair.- Greg

Anshuman, stop twirling your moustache. Try dressing and grooming yourself like you belong here else you certainly can't expect to make an impression on smart young women. - Ananya

Mr. Galadari, it baffles me when some people label you liberal and others call you conservative. I read your comments and am happy that you are presenting a balanced view. - Jessica White

Faisal, there are too many spelling errors on page one, why on earth are you wasting time chatting on the phone all the time? You should be at your desk paying attention to the copies you are editing. Now stop reading this and get back to work. - Media Mole

Yasser, let me ask you a question? Has KT lost the edge since you decided to shortlist items? Well, it's unlikely you would be honest about it, but then you weren't supposed to be. Anyway, some sharp thinking is required when you work at KT and you better get used to it. - Ombudsman
