Dubai and Nitanjali Art Gallery, New Delhi. Also on display was ‘Mysterious Interplay’ – a collection of artworks by Partha Bhattacharjee.
Shareen Botelho, Director, Brush Trading LLC, explained its concept as an art investment company. “We advise people who are interesting in starting an art collection. Together with Nitanjali Art Gallery, New Delhi, we showcase unique art pieces that offer a great investment opportunity for not just the city’s large Indian and Pakistani population but art connoisseurs of all nationalities. We started the company in May and this is our second show.”
Indian artist Partha Bhattacharjee’s paintings evoke a wide range of emotions through their ethereal depiction of young women exuding mystery, compassion, happiness and dreams. He explains some of the emotions behind his painting ‘The Trump Cards.’ “The Trump Cards is all about suppression of dreams – young girls in rural areas in India have so many of those – but many times they end up being exploited and used, as ‘trump cards.’”
Other artworks included in ‘Rhythms of Illumination’ were by Amiya Bhattacharya, Babu Xavier, Chhotulal, Jamil Naqsh, Kamar Alam, Manoj Vyloor, Meena Deora, Najmi Sura, Nayanaa Kanodia, S.N. Jha, Sanatan Dinda, Seema Kohli, Shruti Chandra Gupta, Shubhra Das, Sujata Dere, Suman Roy and Vinay Sharma.
