CHAWL RUKH KHAN

Director Farhan Akhtar has a way with shooting on real locations. He did that with Dil Chahta and even Lakshya, where he was put up at Ladakh, in the northern part of India, which gets overtly cold in winters.

So, how can Akhtar change his line of work this time with Don remake?

Well, Akhtar has begun shooting his film in central Mumbai, in playgrounds and chawls. Akhtar doesn't even have time to breathe.

According to a source, Shah Rukh Khan who plays the title role, has been very co-operative and has been actively taking part in the shooting.

"In fact, he has been shooting round the clock. For the past five days, he has shot for almost 12 hours a day. He doesn't complain of fatigue either and reports to sets on time. He likes hanging around and told us that he liked shooting here in this modest chawl," says a source.

Producer Ritesh Sidhwani admits that they have been shooting non-stop.

"We don't have any time for anyone. We want to ensure that this first schedule finishes off on time. Our last two movies Dil Chahta Hai and Lakshya too were made on time within our budget. We are aiming for the same with Don," says Ritesh.

Meanwhile, before the shoot began on the first day, there were reports that so many crowds had gathered to see Shah Rukh that the makers had to put an extra security cover. But Ritesh denies that there any problems.

"In fact, people have been very co-operative. They have given us their full support. This is not the first time we have shot on real locales — we did that with Dil Chahta Hai and Lakshya. Also, shooting in studios wouldn't have suited our script. So, we thought of shooting in chawls. This way, we can stick to the script and make our film look more real," says Sidhwani.

The unit will soon fly to Mauritius and Paris for the final shooting schedule. "In fact, a major part of the film will be shot in Mauritius. A lot of action will take place there — so that's an important spell for us."
