he says adding, “the increase in the number of visitors and sales during DSS reflects positively about the event at large as it attracts tourists from all over the world who come down to enjoy indoor shopping and entertainment during the summer months. Each year, a fruitful partnership is run with the private sectors and fresh ideas are incorporated into the DSS activities, giving it a new feel altogether.”

Adds Fouad, “There are 20 million yearly visitors to Deira City Centre and thanks to DSS we have a substantial increase in the number say by 20 per cent visitors and the 15 per cent sales since the start of DSS. The number of visitors is expected to further increase when DSS approaches its end. There is a lot of excitement in the city, people want to come, see and be part of all the action. The management is expecting more visitors and sales and we are ready to welcome the visitors to our Centre and provide them with ultimate services,” he assures.

Says Fouad, “Since the launch of DSS in 1998, shops and stores across Dubai have witnessed an increase in their sales. Promotions, sales, events, weekly expensive prizes, and last day mega prizes are the major attractions for shoppers from inside UAE, the region and the world. Keeping this in mind, Deira City Centre is participating with Dubai Shopping Malls Group in the Strike it rich promotion. Entitling shoppers spending a minimum of Dh200, and multiples thereof, to a coupon that will be entered into a weekly raffle to win 1,000,000 cash, a luxurious Jumeirah Beach Residence apartment and a car in addition to Dh50,000 credit in Mashreqbank WOW MasterCard promotion. Moreover the ‘city win’ promotion which facilitates customers to win Dh5,000 every week and a car every four months through out the year.”

Commenting on the eventful Colour Surprises week Fouad informs, “We cooperated with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry and other Government departments to organise the events and have many visitors due to the variety of the activities. Modhesh made the Magic Planet zone more exciting for the kids by being on site on Monday during the Colour Surprises week. The stream of activities included face painting, drawing and colouring on paper plus magic shows.”
